The Tamborine Mountain – Hinterland Sports Festival is an annual mass participation sports event held on top of the mountain over one weekend each November. The event brings exciting sports action, education and activities to the Scenic Rim region and Gold Coast Hinterland for everyone to enjoy and participate.

How do I enter?

It’s easy! Just visit the ‘ENTER’ page on the top menu, read through the details and follow the prompts, and it will take you through to our online registration site. Entries are on a ‘first come, first served’ basis so register early to secure your spot.

Registrations can also be completed via your smartphone. Alternatively ask a friend for help, or visit your closest library for free computer access.

Do I receive a confirmation of my entry?

Yes – an automated confirmation of your entry will be sent to the email address you have provided. You will then receive another confirmation email approximately 1 week prior to the event with the pre-event participants guide.

What if I don’t receive a confirmation email?

You may have inputted your email address incorrectly or the confirmation may have been filtered to your junk mail folder. Please check here first, alternatively you can log back into the system and check the details. Still no joy? Then please contact the registration team on the Contact page

Upon entering you will be sent a registration confirmation email which includes a link for you to view – and edit – some of your registration details. This includes
– personal details including address, email and phone details but not your name or date of birth;
– participant questions;
– team/group details including change, join or leave team if applicable; and
– withdrawal from the event (please note no refund is applicable).

THE EVENT

Yes but don’t panic! The events are setup in such a way that you can choose your preferred distance (one that you feel comfortable with).

How do I collect my event pack including bib number?

Participants are required to bring their ID or confirmation email with them to collect their event pack. If you are collecting for a team or on behalf of another person, please ensure you have written permission or confirmation emails. Check the Enter page to see where and when your event packs can be collected.

What is in the event pack?

Your official bib number, timing chip (depending on event), safety pins and goodies from any sponsors and suppliers.

Can you post out my event kit?

Sorry, this isn’t possible. Event kits should be picked up in person – either the day before or on the morning of the event. You can always ask a friend to pick it up for you – but please ensure they bring your ID or confirmation email in order to do so.

What do I need to wear?

Participants obviously need to wear the appropriate outfit for whatever weather it might be, but we would also encourage you to bring some extra clothes and leave them with some family and friends who are spectating (just in case). But probably the best advice is to check the forecast the day before and plan ahead. Click here for a 7-day forecast closer to the date.

No. While we are keen for all of our participants to score a fast time if that is their goal, our focus is on participation, and having fun.

What roads are closed for the event?

No roads are closed. This is an organised run/walk along the main street roads and pathways of the event location and as such participants are strictly advised to follow normal operating road rules at all times.

Are prams permitted?

Are prams permitted?

Yes – participants with buggies/prams are actively encouraged in the run/walk. To assist with safe egress onto the pathways, these participants are asked to start from the back of each start group.

Are bikes, skateboards or scooters permitted?

Are bikes, skateboards or scooters permitted?

No – in the interests of participant safety – bikes, rollerblades, skates, scooters, or skateboards are not permitted along any of the running courses.

What is participation etiquette?

What is participation etiquette?

We’d like to provide an enjoyable event experience for all participants, so please be mindful of participation etiquette: The use of ipods/mp3 players is discouraged; Position yourself within the start field relative to your ability and your goal time so that faster participants are not impeded; Keep to the left of the course to allow people to pass on the right; Do not stop or change directions suddenly; Be courteous to your fellow participants at all times; Always follow the directions of all event officials and emergency service personnel.

Is personal accident or equipment insurance included?

Is personal accident or equipment insurance included?

No, While Event Organisers have their own public liability insurance, this does NOT include personal accident insurance, ambulance cover or equipment damage/replacement if required. Event Organisers strongly recommend that all participants take out their own insurance to cover these items for the purpose of participating in the event.

Unfortunately there are no refunds, but we do offer a free substitution service for you to pass your entry onto another person, be it a family member, friend or colleague.

Yes! In addition, most events have a discount for younger participants.

Do I need Mum, Dad or guardian to complete any permission slips?

Do I need Mum, Dad or guardian to complete any permission slips?

Yes – they need to complete the online registration process on your behalf.

Are well controlled pets allowed at the venue?

Are well controlled pets allowed at the venue?

Yes – dogs are permitted and encouraged but must be kept on a leash (no longer than 1 metre in length) at all times. All animal waste is to be removed by the owner or person in control of the dog.

Yes. There are a selection of sizes available but must be pre-ordered as part of the online registration system. Half Chest Sizes are as follows (please double for full size) – Size XXS (14) is 47.5cm; Size XS is 48.5cm; Size S is 51.5cm; Size M is 54cm; Size L is 56.5cm; Size XL is 59cm; Size 2XL is 62cm; Size 3XL is 65cm; Size 4XL is 68cm. Unfortunately we cannot swap tshirts ordered as there is no excess to help save on costs, but we can take your name, and pass onto other parties if they also wish to swap for other sizes.

How old do I have to be to volunteer?

How old do I have to be to volunteer?

The minimum age is 14 years old; all persons between the ages of 14 to 18 must have the online application form agreed to by their consenting Parent/Guardian, and must also have a supervisor to be present on the day; this person is responsible for the under-aged volunteer and must also be registered as a Volunteer.

Depending on the nature of the role and numbers required, this isnt always possible but we try our best to accommodate. Please list this information on your volunteer registration form.

How do I know what role I am registering for?

During the online registration process you will be prompted to select your volunteering preference.

Once you have submitted your application form you should automatically receive an email stating we have received your form and the team will be in contact in due course.

We will try our hardest to send out all task related information 2 weeks prior to the event.

Provide your email address on the website enews sign up or like any of our social media pages to find out the latest. An event update will also be sent out approximately 1 week before.

Is there any volunteer training?

Is there any volunteer training?

Yes – we ask all volunteers to come across for a brief induction before the event starts. This may be a coupl of days before, the day before, or on the morning. This provides you with piece of mind and ensures you have all of the information/times for your specific role.

What should I wear on the day?

You will be given a hi vis vest to identify you as a volunteer/official. We also recommend wearing comfortable closed in shoes and pants that you don’t mind getting a little dirty.

There is limited space at the venue therefore we suggest to bring only the necessities.

What food/refreshments will I get on the day?

You will be provided with a bottle of water for your shift. There is also the opportunity to purchase food at any of the vendor services during/post event. If you think you will require additional food please be sure to bring it along.
